Sleep Disorder Diagnosis

Diagnosis – How do you Diagnose Sleep Disorders?

Sleep study computer screen.JPG

We diagnose sleep conditions that cause both common and complex health issues -- from weight concerns and daytime sleepiness, to choking and aggressive behaviors during sleep. An overnight sleep study is a standard diagnostic test for detecting sleep disorders and is the most effective technique for diagnosing multiple sleep disorders. After you are evaluated by a sleep specialist, you may be scheduled  for an overnight sleep study. During the study you will spend the night at the Sleep Center in a comfortable, private room, while being monitored during your sleep.
We operate a modern professional sleep center equipped with the latest sleep technology to monitor patients in a comfortable and safe environment. The facility offers a home-like atmosphere conducive to your comfort during a sleep study.

Sleep Disorder Treatment

Treatment - What are the Next Steps?

Sleep Disturbed 2.jpg

The Sleep Center's specialists work to treat sleep disorders with attention to any underlying conditions (mental, medical, substance abuse, etc.) that may be causing interrupted sleep. In general, treatments for sleep disorders can be grouped into four key categories that in many cases can effectively be combined to maximize treatment benefits:

  • behavioral/ psychotherapeutic treatments

  • CPAP, Oral appliance and Inspire Neuro stimulation therapy

  • medications

  • Other Cranial Nerve stimulation therapies for Insomnia

None of these general approaches is sufficient for all patients with sleep disorders. Rather, the choice of a specific treatment depends on the diagnosis, medical and psychiatric history, your preferences, and the sleep specialist's expertise and recommendation. In some cases, special equipment may be required for treatment or management of a disorder such as obstructive apnea, circadian rhythm disorders and bruxism. Your sleep specialist will work together with you to determine the best approach to treating and/or managing your sleep disorder.
